Ten Interesting Things about This Storage-Filled Bathroom

Waypoint's style 644S in Maple LinenFilled with storage, this charming white bathroom has a number of interesting features. Let’s take a look.

1. This tall storage column is enclosed with pilasters that give an architectural feel. Pilasters are an ancient design element that  looks  structural  but its purpose is purely decorative.

2. Wine Storage Cabinets find a new life as a place to store rolled up towels. I like that this makes them easy to reach.

3. Cabinet doors with glass inserts give the bathroom a spa-like look. Of course this requires neatness, but I think it is worth it here.

4. Matching flat stock from Waypoint trims the mirrors to give a custom look.

5. Open shelves facing towards each basin keep bath necessities close at hand.

6. Heavy molding adds detail between the stacked center cabinets.

7. A painted plank ceiling trimmed with crown molding is the perfect finish to this room with a coastal feel.

8. Heavy cove colding caps off the storage columns. This simpler version of crown molding gives a transitional look to the room.

9. A variety of toe treatments is a surprising twist  in this bathroom. There’s a combination of a standard recessed toe, a recessed toe space with tapered leg accents and an arched toe treatment in the middle.

10. Solid wood beadboard doors in Maple Linen complete the perfect look.

I like really looking into a design to see just how it’s put together. It’s often surprising how an unusual use of standard cabinets and a combination of details can create an  interesting finished project.
