When it came time to create my dream space, I went right to Paris. Inspired by long lingering lunches I spent soaking up local color, watching the world pass by outside my favorite Parisian café, I hoped to create a place to socialize, reflect, wine and dine. Painted Ember Glaze cabinets were the perfect start for the airy palette I envisioned. I fell in love with the deep taupe glaze that collects in the bevels and contours of the doors—a dreamy backdrop for my inspired space.
Storage and style were equally as important to the design. I wanted the cabinetry to be unique and plentiful with the look of custom furniture. Using a mix of decorative details including a 740-door cut complete with Mullion Frames and Clear Glass Inserts, molding buildups and Yates Legs, I achieved a hand-finished look with floor-to-ceiling storage.
Of course, no Parisian café is complete without a cozy banquette. For a pop of pattern, I chose durable, black and white houndstooth upholstery. For dining and additional French flair, a round bistro table and chair were ideal. Finally, shedding light and glam on the spellbinding space is a crystal chandelier—ooh la la! Paris, without the passport.
