A kitchen transformation from dated and dark to modern and open.
Cindy Ortiz of EKB Kitchens had a challenge in front of her–transforming a 1958 colonial kitchen into one that offered better functionality, flow and style.
The owners were interested in changing the entire layout of the small kitchen into one that would provide more room and better use of the space. They also knew from the start they wanted a grey and white color palette.
Using the 650 door style, Cindy chose Painted Boulder and Painted Linen, a beautiful combination that was exactly what the owners had in mind. The neutral colors provided a fresh, clean look and a timeless yet contemporary feeling to kitchen. Cindy designed the new kitchen with plenty of counter space, and kept the Painted Boulder cabinets along the base to ground the space, with the Painted Linen cabinets lining the walls for unobtrusive efficiency. Sleek, steel appliances fit in perfectly with the new décor. Finishing touched like glass front cabinetry and polished chrome hardware completed the look, tying the two toned cabinets together effortlessly.
Waypoint cabinets were an easy choice for Cindy, who enjoys working with the company because they offer enough styles and colors for her clients to choose from, while also fitting into their budget. She also appreciates that there isn’t an overwhelming amount of modifications available to bury the clients. Everything is simple, and exactly what they had in mind.
From a dated colonial cabinet to a modern two-toned masterpiece, this kitchen is the heart of the home and a breath of fresh air.
