I love changing with the seasons! I look forward to changing wardrobes, décor and food—all of that. Because with fall comes such a nostalgic, cozy feeling. I have already pulled my fall décor bins out of the attic and can’t wait to hit the farmer’s market this weekend for those oversized mums. I’m also perusing my favorite blogs for inspiration, like Jillian Harris’ post on fall décor—love it! I’m in the September mood, and thinking, what could be cozier than being at home with a warm, crackling fire?
FRESH CHARACTER STYLE IS OUR VERSION OF THE MODERN FARMHOUSE
This timeless, built-in fireplace mantel with modern farmhouse details, our Fresh Character style, is the perfect solution to create that warm, inviting feeling in your space. If Fresh Character décor is your style, check out other inspirational living spaceson our website to begin thinking about how you can bring that stylish, comfortable feeling into your home. I designed this built-in around the cozy fireplace, which creates a perfect solution to tuck away the flat screen TV. It’s a fact, most everyone has a television, so get creative and surround it with stylish elements. This built-in furniture piece is rich in architectural details; like the molding treatment I added around the mantel area. It creates a delicate focal point for the room. I used plinth blocks and fillers to create columns outlining the trendy tiled face of the fireplace area. I made a picture frame around the television area, with a coordinating, paneled back for a seamless, unified look. Design Tip: I used the design principle of repetition and repeated the same molding detail at the top of the cabinetry, bringing this built-in furniture piece to the ceiling for a custom, high-end finish.
ALWAYS LOOK FOR WAYS TO CREATE MORE STORAGE
When thinking of storage needs—think open and closed, balancing positive and negative space. This built-in mantel area provides ample storage for all of your living room needs for family fun night, books, DVDs, blankets, anything that you can think of that helps to escape the hectic rush and take time to slow down to relax. The open storage area created with void door wall cabinetry provides an opportunity to show off some of your more prized accessories.
